I have more than twenty years experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I earned my Ph.D. from The California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno. After completing my pre-doctoral internship at the John L. Gildner Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (JLG-RICA), I joined the staff at Ruth Spodak, Ph.D. and Associates, a Rockville-based private practice specializing in testing, evaluation, and diagnosis of individuals with learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. In 2002 I opened my own private practice. Since this time, I have provided therapy for tweens, adolescents, young adults, new parents, and parents of young children. In addition, I provide psycho-educational, psychological, and private school admissions testing.

Many of my experiences have helped me better understand the individuals and families with whom I work. I grew up in a military family, including living overseas, and my husband served six years in the U.S. Navy. I personally understand the unique challenges faced by our military service personnel and their families. Likewise, I am the mother of two daughters and a son who range in age from middle school to college. I certainly appreciate the joys and challenges of each developmental stage as well as the academic and social challenges our children face. My experiences have lead to a greater compassion and understanding for those who seek my help.
